A Guide To MSN (Masters in Nursing) Scholarships And Grants

Masters in nursing scholarships and grants are out there but they’re not always easy to find. The scholarships and grants that are a little harder to find, however, often have less students applying for them. This means that your chances are better when you apply for obscure scholarships. Take a look at some of the many ways to locate as many scholarships and grants as possible.

The Easy Ones

Some of the sources of funding that are the easiest to locate come from the government. To find these all you have to do is use the basic search terms of grants and scholarships along with any terms related to government or federal funding. Everyone goes after these sources but there is a lot of money to go around if you get your applications in early.

You can then search for grants and scholarships that are specifically geared toward students in the nursing field. You will have to thoroughly read through the eligibility requirements of each grant and scholarship to make sure that you are eligible before you apply but these sources are usually just for nurses. That means that you are not competing against as many students as you would be if you were applying for general scholarships and grants.

General scholarships and grants are not bad. You will just be competing against students of all disciplines to get your hands on these funds. Seeking out scholarships and grants in a general way should probably be your last attempt to find money for school but it is still a worthwhile effort. You will be going up against more people but that doesn’t mean you won’t walk away with even more money to put toward your masters in nursing.

The Harder Ones

The more obscure grants and scholarships sometimes take a good amount of searching, or just dumb luck, to find. These are the ones that you won’t find in the top few search results when you are looking for scholarships and grants. This is good because if you found certain grants and scholarships right away then odds are a lot of other students found those grants and scholarships right away too.

Masters of nursing scholarships and grants are definitely out there in spades. Some are easy to find and some are not. Sometimes the ones that are hardest to find are the ones that are easiest to get.
